WARWICK, RI (May 20, 2024) – Fr. Robert L. Marciano, KHS ’75, President, and Mark DeCiccio ’03, Principal, are pleased to announce that Dr. Salvatore Napoli, MD ’91 will serve as Bishop Hendricken’s keynote commencement speaker at the 63rd Graduation Exercises on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 5pm at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in downtown Providence.

Dr. Napoli is a board-certified neurologist specializing in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and general neurology who currently serves as the Medical Director at the Neurology Center of New England and the Infusion Center of New England, both in Foxboro, Massachusetts. In this role, Dr. Napoli ensures that his practice provides compassionate, academic care for the community and the most up-to-date research for all neurology patients.

“A gifted physician, leading researcher, and compassionate caregiver, Dr. Napoli is a shining example of what a Hendricken man should be,” said Fr. Marciano. “Dr. Napoli has made it his life’s work to care for others using his many God-given gifts in medicine. His deep Catholic faith and his proud Italo-American roots form the foundation of his love and devotion to the Church, his family, and his alma mater. We are honored to have him as our commencement speaker to share his insights with those joining our alumni ranks.”

Following his career at Bishop Hendricken, Dr. Napoli graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, New York and the American University in Rome with two Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Italian in 1995. After earning his undergraduate degrees, he completed medical school and his neurology residency at Albany Medical College and Center in Albany, New York.

After medical school, Dr. Napoli accepted a fellowship in MS/Neuroimmunology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He was an Instructor in Neurology at Harvard and received the prestigious Sylvia Lawry Fellowship from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Napoli then joined the staff at the Brigham and Women’s Neurology Department before starting his own Neurology and MS program at Norwood Hospital through Caritas Christi Healthcare and Steward Healthcare.

In 2013, Dr. Napoli moved his practice to Foxboro, Massachusetts, offering comprehensive neurological care and devoting his efforts to diagnose, care for, and manage patients with varying neurological diseases and syndromes. Expanding and growing through research and infusion developments, the practice has blossomed into a one-stop-shop, offering physical therapy, speech language pathology, infusion, and more. The practice has a strong belief in the “Napoli effect” and a philosophy that all patients should be treated as if they were family members. Looking to the future, Dr. Napoli’s practice hopes to integrate both medical and non-medical treatments into the care of those with chronic neurological illnesses.

The graduation will be streamed live from the Cathedral at hendricken.com/graduation. Doors to the Cathedral will open at 4pm for all guests. Tickets are required for the ceremony and have been limited to graduates and their families.
